The big ole WIP list. WHY DO I KEEP BUYING MORE FABRIC? I have plenty to keep me occupied for the rest of the year- especially if I hand quilt the Anna Tiles.

This stack is for Kdub's baby quilt. I've found all the prints I want from this line (RB Sew Cherry) except the blue cherries and the white cherries. Which are, of course, the two cutest print in the line. I could remove the blue petal print and use what I have (which is more than enough), or I could spend another $10-15 and order the two cherries. What would you do? I'm a little worried that keeping the blue would be too many colors and would look less cohesive, but the blue cherries are truly the cutest. Here's a link to the pattern I'm going to use.
Planning Stage:
Bye Baby Bunting
French Braid
Kdub's quilt
Cutting Stage:
AMH Tiles- need to cut sashing
Lotta Confetti- Cut white strips and start sewing. I added in some of the Glimma pieces from the Charm pack I won.
Piecing stage:
Minky Baby
Dresden Sheets- Wish I had a few more purples and pinks
Top Done:
Starburst of Indie- Need to piece the back
Way old Christmas WIP- Find backing fabric and get this baby DONE
Linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced! You gals should link a WIP post up, too! Also, my friend Dana (HI DANA!) suggested that we do something to identify who wrote each post. Maybe a sign-off?

This us my opinion of buying the extra fabric for Kdub's baby quilt. The more fabric you use the more scraps you will have to make another quilt, plus the fabrics you are missing are your favorites. You should have your favorites. So is this your whole list? That is so doable! I would love to see the top of the old Christmas WIP!
ReplyDeleteYou make a good point, but is it too much color with the blue in? Maybe I should take out the brown, but then it's too rainbowy.
DeleteI would be going back an forth on this issue as well. Honestly, for me it would depend on how eager I was to get working on the project (more eager=leave out the blue) and if I could find the cherries on sale :)
ReplyDeleteLeigh Anne, I like the way you think! I'm all about the sale fabric!
DeleteLove the lotta jansdotter fabric :-) I am officially on a no buying promise until at least July....I have spent so much money lately :-)
ReplyDeleteWOW, July! Good for you! Althoug, all the fall and Christmas lines come out between now and then, and that's easier for me to resist.
DeleteI have the same problem--can't stop buying fabric! I keep telling myself I need to use my stash but it's more fun to buy something new! (And just my personal opinion but I think it would look better without the blue. Not that you can go wrong either way--it will be beautiful!)
ReplyDeleteI love blue, so I'd add it. Plus, your stash could use a boost. Just wait until I post pictures of mine, then you'll feel much better!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to see pictures of your stash.
