Scrumptious

Guess what came in the mail.

MY PRIZE!  I made Matty take pictures of me, and now he thinks I'm a big weirdo.  "You're petting the fabric."

Let's talk about how pretty and perfect the color palette is.  The orange is pretty enough to eat. and I'm not normally a fan of orange.

I wish this tiny floral had an orange.

As a surprise, Camille included three patterns in the box.  Wasn't that sweet!  I can't wait to make a Christmas quilt out of Round & Round.

How great is Surfside in all solids?  It looks a little like a houndstooth.

Thanks Camille, and thank you to Moda, too.  Keep on doing what you do, and I'll keep buying it.

XOXO- Pinspot

  2. I'm only a little jealous, you lucky, lucky girl!! I told you girls how fabulous it was, I am in serious love! Can't wait to see what you do with it. Question, what do you think about the size of fat eighths? I've never bought one and I'm not sure if it's not enough or just right.

    1. I feel like a fat eighth is cut the wrong way. Instead of being 9x22. why isn't it 18x11? I've always wondered this. 9x22 is a skinny eighth.
Depending on the fabric and what you plan to do with it, a fat eighth is enough. Especially when you get the whole line. I've realized that in most cases, I can do what I need to do with a line of fabric if I buy a layer cake.

Except Scrumptious is SO GOOD that a fat eighth is not nearly enough.

    2. Hmm...interesting. Some places I read a fat eight was cut 18x11, in which case, it would be just fine, but I like fat things, not skinny things (unless it's me). Fabric Fly is having a preorder sale of yardage of Scrumptious on sale for $7.99 with the code "scrumptious".
