Ninjas

First off...THE KIDS STARTED SCHOOL!!  Now it's just me and the little one. Okay, now that that's out of the way, onto less important things.

This is what came in the mail on Monday. It's for baby quilt #3 (due on my birthday-February). It's called I am Ninja (I think). The far right is a panel, and I think I'll just keep it whole instead of cutting it up. I'll add some primary color solids (red, blue, grey) and call it good.

Baby quilt #2 is waiting to find out what they're having until baby is born (due on my mom's birthday-October), along with baby quilt #4 (due sometime in March). So I figure they'll just have to wait extra long for a quilt.

Baby quilt #1 is being pieced right now (Hubby nixed that design wall, dang it). My 9-patches are done and now I'm piecing the Ohio stars. I'm really hoping this doesn't end up too busy. As much as I adore yellow, I didn't want quite this much of it. My sister, Colleen, just had her baby boy last week! Reed Christopher Ruggles. I'm choosing not to comment. I mean, I can't comment. It took us, what? Four months to name our last boy? And I still have to go change the birth certificate. The kid's almost 3, for goodness sake. Anyway, she's coming to visit from Alaska for Christmas, so I'll keep this quilt around until then. I hope she likes it.

My sister Kelly wants this fabric (in either girl or boy, depending) as the main fabric for her baby's quilt (#4). They love superheroes. I can't blame them. I might have a little thing for Thor, Iron Man, Wolverine, Hawkeye, Storm Shadow, Batman, the list could go on and on.... The line is Ann Kelle's Super Kids. The problem is that my sister isn't finding out what they're having, so I guess I'll buy some of each colorway? I could just get the print with both male and female kids in it, but it's not quite as cute as the gender specific prints.

As for quilt #2 (October)...I have no idea. I'm seriously considering another line of Ann Kelle's, but maybe some Michael Miller. Who knows? What I should really do is just use up my extensive stash.... At least, that's what my husband thinks I should do.

Linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced.

  1. Hi Jen, what a great selection of fabrics ! We're partial to a superhero here too, add in The incredibles and Big Bang Theory and we cover pretty much every super out there. I'm loving your piecing as my favourite block is the Ohio star!

  2. I'm not a fan of alliteration in names, but you must admit, Ruggles is a tough last name!

I like Anne Kelle a lot. I'd love that big Remix box that FQS sells. I've never seen this super hero print, it is so cute! Congrats to Kelly, I didn't know she was expecting.

I think your Ohio Stars quilt is fab! Not too much yellow at all! The balance is good, for me.
