Easiest Baby Quilt

Hey gals. My SIL Samantha is coming to visit in July and asked if I could help her whip up an easy baby gift for her Be/Fri. She's in labor now and decided to keep the gender a surprise! So I've been brainstorming some easy quilts we could whip-up in an afternoon.
-A basic strip quilt
-A basic charm pack patchwork quilt.
-Jeni's giant star quilt that Jenn made, scaled down. Although accurately cutting pieces that size makes me nervous.
-One of those bunting quilts.
Any other ideas?

  1. I think all of those are good ideas, although I'm partial to the giant star. In fact, I'm making a "baby" one for a silent auction for a leukemia patient in my ward. It's just a HST. I used a layer cake and 10" solid squares so it'd be smaller. Whatever you and Sam decide will be darling, I have no doubt!!

  2. They all sound great. which do you like the look of best? I think one of Those jelly roll quilts would work too. you know the one that you do 5 strips 10 inches long and then when you put the blocks together you put them opposite directions.
