Finally Finished

Finally finished Ninjas Don't Sleep. It's comprised of the I Am Ninja line by Rani Child for Robert Kaufman and Ninjas Don't Sweat by Lily Gonzales-Creed for Windham Fabrics.

I happen to love it, but not sure that my brother and his amazing wife will. Turns out not everyone loves ninjas as much as I do. Not sure why, because ninjas are awesome! I mean who doesn't want a super stealthy assassin to sleep with?! So they may take it off my hand because red, black, and white are visually stimulating for little babes. And I added blue because I had it... and it's one of my favorite colors.

So it may have been -15 degrees outside when we took these pictures. But we hardly ever get actual snowfall, it's usually just ice, so I had to take advantage of it :)

After working with such intense colors on the last two quilts, I decided on a whim (I know, I know, I'm supposed to be adhering to my 48 hour fabric purchasing hold...HA, like that's happened!) to buy a FQ bundle of Rosey. I really needed some soft, gentle, soothing, calmness in my life.

I had no idea what I was going to do with it, so I just made color-coordinated 4 patches, which were perfect until I quilted it. What the...!? I've hear of "quilting out" mistakes, but never quilting them in! Geez! Only I can do crap like that.

Seriously, this may be only 4" of windblown snow, but we love it! And I'll take better pictures when I bind and wash.

I backed it in some stash fabrics I had, florals I was never gonna use. And my most favorite print from Sarah Jane's Children at Play. What the heck, I'm the one who is gonna be using it on the couch, might as well use one of my most favorite prints. I still need to bind it however.... Turns out I really HATE binding. Like, I would pay someone to do that part. Just that part, mind you.

Anyway, if you've gotten this far in the post, kudos! Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. I would love to see some closeups. I would bind your quilts for you, probably my favorite part, next to the quilty math part. Gosh dang, we really need to live by each other. Who's the little darling holding the quilt?

  3. Really? There's people out there that don't love ninjas?!! I'm thinking of making matching ninja outfits for me and my littles so we can sneak around and do ninja like things.
I adore this quilt! Funnest baby quilt ever!! The little bits of blue are perfect.

  4. I have commented on this about 40 times. I don't know why my comments don't show up when I am on the phone or ipad. Super Annoying.

Anyway... I love the little ninja quilt. It's a really great use of the economy block and the blue accent is fab.
But your Rosey quilt, oh it is so, so pretty! Super feminine! I have no idea what you mean buy quilting in or quilting out mistakes. Huh?
I am so glad you used that Sarah Jane Print. It will make you happy every time you see it. Totally worth it.
