Here We Go Again

Remember all that furniture we got from Brian's boss? The stuff that came from his lake house? The lake house is now finished and we spent a day there a few weeks ago. Aside from the fact that it's opulent and stunning, it apparently needs a house warming gift, or so all the top peeps think so. And since there are only three top peeps, one being the owner (who doesn't know about the housewarming gifts) one the VP of engineering, and one being Brian, well....

So the Engineering VP's wife made a bunch of wine...something. So guess what I get to make?? Anyone? Anyone? Fine, I'll just tell you. I'm making a quilt. And I'm actually totally not stressed about it. In fact, I'm looking forward to it. I already know exactly what I'm going to do and the color scheme. I already have the fabrics (thank you Kona Cotton Box of Basics). Now just to figure out the quilty math (boo) and get cutting!

Here's a few shots of inspiration. And here is my color scheme, since it is a lake house and everything.

The entire decking, boardwalk, etc. is made out of mahogany (gorgeous), and the hardwood flooring inside is refurbished barn joists (double gorgeous). Her (owner's wife) style is completely eclectic, so I'm not worried about it "fitting in". I'm gonna just make a throw sized quilt for their rich leather couch (matches one of the browns). Best part? I'm gonna send it out to be quilted. Yep. That's right! It's going. What do you think??
