Downpour

I ordered some 'Soaked' fabric from Connecting Threads after falling in love with it when I saw it at Stitched in Color. It's PERFECT for Tornado Alley!!
"Over 80% of the annual number of tornadoes happen from March through June, with nearly 40% of those happening in the month of May. And while tornadoes can occur virtually anywhere in the United States, no place has more significant tornadoes than in Oklahoma ." Good job Oklahoma!

I've been drafting a tornado pattern to piece together with the fabric. Unfortunately, I have to wait another two weeks before I will get all my fabric because M.H. at connecting threads thought this looked like Gray Raindrops.... Yep, it goes so well with all the other fabric. Thankfully I have a bazillion W'sIP going; like B's quilt, my Bird's and the Bee's quilt, my Lagoon quilt, Seaside, and the absolutely ADORABLE butterflies Pinspot mailed me! I LOVE them and am going to turn my feedsacks into more! Thank you for sending them! So, my Downpour quilt will have to get in line.

  1. Funny, I bought downpour too! It was so cheap. I am making Heather an H pattern quilt with blues and greens. When Heather turned 4 yrs old the only birthday present she wanted was rain. I kept telling her it is not in the forecast. She kept saying "it will rain for my birthday" she was right, it rained on her birthday. She has always loved the rain so I thought this would be great for her quilt. Plus, I LOVE it!

    2. Oh yeah, did you get any matching thread?? I've never used their thread and was wondering how the quality was.

  2. I didn't get thread, and never have. I just use gutermann's. I want to start using the good stuff, but I am at a loss as to where to start.

  3. I use gutermann's as well, but from my understanding, the good stuff is Aurifil. Expensive and good. I've been considering buying some, but it's so much, for thread! Maybe I'll just get some basic white.
