Hey ladies!

I just placed an order at because they had a 20% off coupon, and I needed some good boy fabric to make a quilt for Matt's boss's new baby.  Baby boy #5.  Bless their hearts.  I ordered several prints of VeloCity by Jessica Hogarth for P&B textiles.  The prints are great, oversize bikes (the Velo part) and abstract cityscapes.  It's modern and juvenile without being cutesy, just up my alley.  I don't know if I've ever used their fabric before, though.  Have you?  It was only $2.87 a half yard, a risk worth taking.

I'm planning on turning it into this quilt.  The picture comes with no instructions, no tutorial, and no pattern.  I'm thinking it'll be some HST's using this method and a 1 1/2" sashing.  What do you think?

Last year I placed a few orders at buying whole yards of each print.  Somehow I didn't realize you could order in half yard increments.  *face palms*  Here's the result of that:

This isn't all of it, just what I haven't cut in to. Think of what I could've saved!  Luckily, my obsession with coupons and discounts means I probably paid bottom dollar (is that a saying?  It should be.)  (Oh wait, that song from Annie!)

GUESS WHAT!  While I was down in my wreck-of-a-basement snapping that pic, I found a random FQ of the only HTF print from VeloCity.  I don't know when or why I bought it, but I'm glad I did!

Sometimes I'm so glad I'm a hoarder.  Ain't the first time I've said that, and probably ain't the last.

  1. That will be awesome! I don't love the colors but I love the prints! I am going to right now! I really shouldn't since I just got a wad of fabric from them last week and am getting a FQ bundle of Locally Grown any day, but what the heck. It's just money, right!? Oh yes, I am also hoarding money to spend at the Arizona Quilters Guild show on Friday. I hope it is worth it!

  2. This is going to be great! I can't wait to see it! I'm also going to check out, thanks for the tip!!
