Cotton, Bamboo, Wool

I finished piecing B's backing today and now I'm trying to decide what type of batting I want. The man is perpetually cold, except when he's hot, which is usually right before bed (pun may or may not be intended). I have extensive experience with cotton batting, limited experience with bamboo (but I find that I love the drape and warmth it gives off, which seems to be more than cotton with about the same amount of shrinkage), and no experience with wool, but I read positive things, but you have to be careful. Poly is out, I am a snob. I am leaning towards bamboo or wool. Do you have any experience with either?

Here's some a lot of backing pics, you know you want to see them....

Okay, I suck at backlit pictures. Just bear with me.

Wyatt brought Elle's ironing board in to help me out. He's pretty cute, I'll admit.

I added some more, the top blue is a linen.

  1. I want the back for a quilt, I LOVE it! I have only used cotton batting, so I am in no way able to offer any advice. I want you to try wool or bamboo, just so you can tell me what you think!

  3. The back is so great! Those waves and whale tails print is fab. Is it a Tula Pink print? I know nothing about batting. I didn't even know bamboo was an option. Jenn, you are clearly the veteran here.

    1. That whales and waves print is Tula Pink, from her latest line, Saltwater. There are vintage prints in there as well (some of the green, including the cute little chicks).
