I've really wanted to try a Dresden plate and I need to practice my fabric matching skills. I am not good at matching fabric from different lines and consequently keep all my fabric bundles together. So I made a HUGE pin cushion. Hahaha. I'm finding I need more pins so its ok. I love it. My hand quilting skills are lacking because I haven't used them in so long, but I think it turned out so sweet! I made my own template by making a circle first, it worked out quite well. I really want to make a whole quilt now with all of these sweet Japanese fabrics. I need to buy the Dresden accuqiult die but its $85. I REALLY want it. Tell me, in all honesty, what you think about my fabric pulling skills, please!
Have a happy day!

ReplyDeleteI think you did an excellent job! I have a hard time mixing and matching different fabric lines also, so I understand your hesitation. Looks like your out to a great start! Your pin cushion is just so sweet, love the lace also!

ReplyDeleteGreat job, and such a cute pin cushion!!
Thanks girls for encouraging me. My youngest daughter, 20 yrs. old, has requested a whole quilt "just like that pin cushion" so hopefully I can add a few more fabrics that match well. We will see!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect Jenni! You don't give yourself enough credit. And a whole quilt will be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOh, a whole quilt would be so beautiful! I think your fabric choices are great!
